Planning a trip that is romantic, rstorative and takes you back to our natural roots... look no further than Chiang Mai, Thailand. Smaller than Bangkok, Chiang Mai is a stones-throw away from the most luxuriant natural habitats thailand has to offer, and full of boutique hotels and relaxing locations.

Many travelers prefer Thailand's pleasant northern capital over the hectic pace of life in Bangkok. Most of the tourist action happens within Chiang Mai's Old City, where orange-robed monks from the many temples smile as they pass. From numerous cultural festivals and sprawling night markets to mountain trekking and scores of beautiful temples, you can add bursts of activities in between your candoodling sessions: enjoy the bustling nightlife, learn about elephants at the elephant conservation center, relax at the spa and enjoy Thai massages...

And if you want to explore more outside the city, there are many interesting location near Chian Mai. Pai, for example, is a riverside village only four hours north so you can visit you can visit both the city and countryside.

Added bonus, Thailand is still relatively inexpensive so you will also be able to enjoy luxurious romantic accomodations. Hotel Bungalow is the perfect example of an affordable bit of paradise!

Staggering views of the island’s twin Pitons from each of its 28 open-air suites plant it firmly on the honeymoon and celebration circuit, but there’s more to this resort than swoon-worthy vistas. Hot stone massages in the spa are heavenly. Cooking classes and rum tastings at a nearby plantation are educational and fun. Thursday nights are reserved for sunset cruises on the resort catamaran, while the five-star scuba center brings guests below water. A James Beard Award-winning chef mans the restaurant and room service, highlighting island flavors with dishes of cinnamon mahi-mahi and blue crab couscous. (Want a multi-course tasting menu with wines delivered straight to your bed? Just ask your major domo—the personal concierge assigned to each room—and consider it done.) Sure, the crafty design is a little cheesy, but that’s nothing your private infinity pool can’t fix.
