Family Bonding with (a Japanese) Style
Tokyo is the staple of most animations, cartoons, and games, so it wouldn’t be surprising to say that Tokyo has a bunch of unique family activities to do! Tokyo has a lot of hidden areas which are kid and family friendly, and would definitely be the best bonding activities and give everyone in your family the time of their lives.

The first and most important place you absolutely have to go to is the Tokyo Disneyland-Disneysea combination. Even if you’ve been to other ones around the world, you can’t miss this one - dubbed as the best one ever. Spend a couple of days exploring the magical land, getting on kid-friendly rides with Pooh, engaging in heated competition shooting with Buzz Lightyear, and enjoying a splash on the water ride. Be charmed by the wildlife at the Disneysea side, and be transported to various worlds sure to let all your imaginations run wild.
In line with cartoon-based worlds, the Ghibli Museum is also a place you should visit, whether you’re a Ghibli fan or not. Studio Ghibli is one of the the most prominent studios in Japan, creating the classic pieces such as Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Howl's Moving Castle. See the animated worlds in real life, interact with life-size characters, and get lost with your loved ones! The entire outdoor museum is full of special nooks and crannies where you can recreate scenes with your family and have unique memories and photographs.
Continuing to wander in magical worlds at Odaiba. The must-do activity aside from gawking at robots and hanging around at the beach eating spectacular food is to go to the famous teamLab Borderless, a sensational digital art museum. Your entire family will be blown away by the endless vibrant illuminations and patterns, feeling like you've been sent to an otherworldly space. With hundreds of lights and projections, everything is constantly in motion - you can be floating in a field of flowers, or swimming with fishes.

If you think a toy store is too mundane and boring (especially for the adults), then think again. The Hakuhinkan Toy Park in Ginza will revert everyone back to a child. It’s more than 200,000 varieties spread over five floors - with everything from plushies, educational toys, a slot car race track, and foreign knick-knacks. The highlight is in the doll section, where you can create a 3D-printed version of yourself! Remake your entire family and have a customized souvenir nothing else will ever compare to!
Another version of your family could be a rendition of the Incredibles. Participate in ninja or samurai classes! Learn the secrets of the professions, and try your hand at it. Ninja Samurai Dojo Tokyo, located in Asakusa, offers a variety of classes such as sword fighting, star throwing, darts, ninja, samurai, and inner meditation lessons. They offer garbs that complement the mysterious atmosphere. Feel empowered with your most important people by your side.
